A poem of Encouragement

Here is a very encouraging poem i’ve stumbled upon on the net as i searched for a poem for a close friend of mine. hope it will touch your hearts as it has done to me. it’s very inspiring and uplifting.

Instead

Do not think of what you do not have;
Instead, appreciate what you have and can still have.

Do not think of things lost;
Instead, value what you still have and may yet find.

Do not cry over spilled milk;
Instead, rejoice in what was left.

Do not think of what you are not;
Instead, be humble with what you are and can still become.

Do not think of what others say you are;
Instead, concern yourself with what you affirm to be.

Do not think of the hours and days past;
Instead, look eagerly to times that are yet to come.

Do not think of what you failed to do;
Instead, think of those that you were able to do and can still best do.

Do not think of mistakes committed;
Instead, count the things you did right.

Do not think much of the pain you have caused;
Instead, plan for ways to make amends.

Do not think of the sufferings you now bear;
Instead, look to the comfort when relief draws near.

Do not consume yourself with thoughts of what could have been;
Instead, marvel at what has become and will become.

Do not be anxious to attain greater happiness;
Instead, content yourself with the little things which bring you bliss.

Do not aspire to fill your cup at once;
Instead, have the patience to do it little by little.

And if by chance you fail, do not fret over the empty part on top;
Instead, celebrate the space filled up.

Do not condemn nature when it is at its worst;
Instead, think of the times when it was at its best.

Do not blame luck for things you miss;
Instead, learn from things in which you have been remiss.

Nor should you curse luck or others for life’s misfortunes;
Instead, accept them as part of life.

I say then, Live fully, die a little,
Learn much but question less.

Have just enough but give much more,
Be contented each time to crave much less.

Doubt less and affirm a lot,
Understand more, and be understood less.

Worry a little but hope you must,
Accept all, resist the least.

For all things happen,
In due time they must.

HAPPY NEW YEAR S LAHAT….

now that i found him

i really never thought that i could find somebody like you. someone who’ll understand me for who i really am. you patiently listen to my not so funny jokes and stories, and never gets mad at me whenever i have tantrums. you wait for me everyday after work and shares your time with me every office breaks. you even brought me to places I’ve never been and never thought that i could go. you welcome not only me but my whole family to your life. and though sometimes i always make you irritated, you still have the time to smile.

i really thank you for your

  1. patience
  2. understanding
  3. love
  4. care
  5. thoughtfulness
  6. admiration
  7. faith
  8. trust
  9. believe
  10. acceptance

and whenever you are not around, i really want the day to end to see again your smile. and now that i found you, i know i’ll never look for another man. i love you so much.

confusing thoughts

heartaches makes us grow. though the pain is hard to bear, we learn lessons that allows not to commit the same mistake again in the future. but what if we never learned from the mistakes we have committed before and end up hurting someone we love? the consequences are unbearable, and triples up the pain we felt before. most of us ends up martyrs and should be sent to bagumbayan. we kept on loving someone who does not love us back and kept on hurting someone just always nearby and faithfully loved us. the world of love is so conflicting that most of the time we get confused if we are doing the right thing or not. we tend to chose what we want and not what is right. but what is more important between these two? how can we ever tell that we are heading the right direction? everyone has his own story when it comes to this aspect of life. some ends up chosing what they want and some chose what is right. is it selfish to choose what you want? or is it the conscience that makes you choose what is right? and we end up hurting someone again. maybe the one we love or our loved ones. heartaches makes us grow. how? they help us to be strong and stand again…. though sometimes we never learned.
